For almost three years, people lived in fear of COVID and of each other. Time went on, herd immunity was developed through community infections and vaccinations. No one wants to get COVID, but at least now it’s a more manageable and less severe disease. It’s a new day.
Society will co-exist with COVID, relying on medicines and vaccines, similar to the common cold virus. In the beginning, people were afraid of each other because the common cold was easily transmitted. The Common Cold was identified in the 1950s, but its symptoms and treatment are described in the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus, the oldest existing medical text written before the 16th century.
