S32 1970 Aquatic Plants ( Square shape )

Issued on August 17th, 1970, the three-stamp, square-format ” Aqua Plants ” series celebrated the rich flora of the Mekong and Tonle Sap ecosystems. Featuring the Indian Lotus, Water Hyacinth, and Red Tiger Lotus, this set holds deeper significance in its timing. Released in the volatile interlude between the March 1970 coup and the October declaration of the Khmer Republic, this release stands among the final postal emissions of the pre-republican Kingdom, offering a serene celebration of natural heritage on the threshold of devastating civil conflict.
