S22 1966 The 20th Anniv. of UNESCO in vertical strip

The ” 20th Anniversary of UNESCO ” series stood out for its distinctive square format, a notable departure from standard rectangular releases. Issued as part of a co-ordinated global omnibus campaign, the set represented Cambodia’s participation in international ” stamp diplomacy ” alongside more than sixty participating nations. A UNESCO member state since 1951, the Kingdom leveraged this release to project its commitment to multilateralism, educational progress, and the preservation of its cultural heritage, particularly Angkor. Within the Sangkum era, this issue framed Cambodia as an active partner in the global pursuit of peace through culture, knowledge, and international cooperation.
