The boxer, who has the top of his head truncated, is in a fighting position. He has no mouth to express himself, he can and only has the right to fight, never to be able to say what he feels.

He is surrounded by a small ring tightened around his waist, limiting his movements, preventing him from emerging from his alienation and understanding what is happening in his life. The ring is guarded at each of its corners by four “archaic monsters” placed there to monitor and prevent him from leaving its enclosure. These monsters are the “Superego”, this inner psychoanalytic body which monitors and orders the individual to conform to the rule.

The urban setting at the back is also filled with ring ropes signifying all the borders created by a sometimes oppressive, very often alienating social system.

A face hanging in the sky mocks this poor boxer by encouraging him to hit an invisible enemy while telling him what he thinks: the boxer is a loser.

The head is truncated because our boxer is missing this part intended to connect with truth, understanding, the true erotic nature of things, the one allowing emancipation.
