A rare 7-inch vinyl record featuring four tracks of propaganda music centered on nationalist themes, produced by the National United Front of Kampuchea ( FUNK; រណសិរ្សរួបរួមជាតិកម្ពុជា ). The four songs are : The Red Flag of the Revolution, Unity of the FUNK, The Heroic People’s Armed Forces of National Liberation of Kampuchea, and The Guerrillas.
The National United Front of Kampuchea ( FUNK ) was a strategic alliance formed in 1970 between the ousted Prince Sihanouk and the radical Khmer Rouge to overthrow the U.S.-backed Lon Nol ( Khmer Republic ) regime. By leveraging Prince Sihanouk’s royal prestige to mobilize the peasantry alongside a fierce anti-imperialist message, the coalition served as the political face of the insurgency during the Cambodian Civil War. While they successfully seized power in April 1975, this “ unity ” was merely a facade; once victorious, the Khmer Rouge quickly sidelined Prince Sihanouk and the moderates to establish total control, ushering in the devastating genocidal regime of Democratic Kampuchea under Pol Pot.
