Visually attractive and historically interesting map of the Far East between the World Wars edited by George Philip (1800–1882) cartographer, map publisher and founder of the publishing house George Philip & Son Ltd. Height and depth of land and sea show in vivid colors from rust orange for the Himalayas to deep blue for the Mariana’s Trench. Peking has just changed to Peiping dating the map circa 1928. Colonial rule still extends to teh Dutch east Indies, French Indo-China, British Malaya. The “Japanese Empire” expanding (still included Korea as “Chosen”) and China is no longer an Empire.
